The presentation will share lessons learnt in managing programmes using programme management principles and practices. Using her reflections on the projects and programmes or initiatives she managed and led within the complex public sector environment where there are always clearly defined intended benefits/objectives however realization of such benefits is not always visible. The presentation will use a case study of a programme she managed and led applying the project management techniques (Gauteng Infrastructure Delivery Management System - GIDMS) before training and certification as Professional Programme Manager (PgMP) versus the case study on the management of the Innovative Solid Waste Management Programme post training and registration as the PgMP.
