There are many ways that you can volunteer for the PMI South Africa Chapter, depending on the time you have, your interests – essentially choosing the opportunity that’s right for you.
Opportunities can include:
- Events - Organising, planning, and providing on-site support for our branch meetings, volunteer events, annual PM Summit, professional development and other networking events
- Communications – Providing support or content for the website and our social media platforms – including helping with the ongoing design and creative aspects
- Business Development and Sponsorship – Helping to build the Chapter and find sponsorship opportunities to create networking and professional development opportunities for our members, but also to grow our social impact projects by spreading the word about PMI and what we stand for
- Membership – Helping our members and prospective members by showing a personal touch and answering queries and demonstrating membership benefits
- Professional Development - Planning and managing our many professional activities – including the Mentoring Programme, the Directors Development Programme, the PMP/CAPM preparation workshops, and many more

PM SUMMIT ONLINE EVENTS MANAGEMENT VOLUNTEER
The Online Events Management Volunteer is an appointed volunteer who will be responsible for monitoring the sales of PM SUMMIT 2020 event – individual and bulk ticket purchases (using the South Africa Chapter Joomla events management system), responding to queries regarding ticket purchases and pricing and managing the invoicing and payment process for the PM Summit event. The Volunteer term is 3 months (January to March 2020)
PM SUMMIT DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST
The PM SUMMIT DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST is an appointed volunteer who will be responsible for the coordination, execution and monitoring of the digital marketing campaign for the PM SUMMIT 2020 event via the SA Chapter website, approved social media channels, and other agreed digital channels. The Volunteer term is 3 months (January to March 2020)
DEPUTY VP: MARKETING
The Deputy VP Marketing is an appointed volunteer who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a well-run Marketing portfolio and will be in charge of brand growth across volunteers and members experiences. Working in conjunction with the VP COMMUNICATIONS, this Volunteer will offer advice and support on the PMI South Africa’s Chapter brand presentation and promotion
DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST
The Digital Marketing Specialist is an appointed volunteer who will be responsible for the creation, coordination, support, execution and monitoring of campaigns through various online marketing channels (Chapter website and social media platforms) to drive lead generation and brand awareness goals
ACTING VP MARKETING
The ACTING VP MARKETING is an appointed volunteer (for 2020) who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a well-run Marketing portfolio and will be accountable for brand implementation in line with the PMI Global visual identity and marketing guidelines, across the South Africa Chapter. This role includes managing the team of volunteers who will assist the VP in all aspects related to marketing, promotions, digital marketing, social media and events.
TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
DEPUTY VP: COMMUNICATIONS
The Deputy VP Of Communications is an appointed volunteer accountable and responsible for responsible for managing and coordinating communication channels in accordance with the PMI South Africa chapter policies and bylaws.
SA CHAPTER ICT SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
The ICT Support Volunteer is an appointed volunteer accountable and responsible for supporting South Africa Chapter Leaders / end users across all technology and communication platforms, and for assisting with bulk communications to the Chapter members and volunteers.
SOUTH AFRICA CHAPTER WEBSITE MANAGER
The Website Manager is an appointed volunteer accountable and responsible for administration and maintenance of the PMI South Africa Chapter website, and for collating and & posting content for the website, according to the PMI global and local Chapter branding standards / guidelines.
GP BRANCH COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS VOLUNTEER POSITION
The Gauteng Branch Communications and Publications volunteer is an appointed volunteer responsible for managing and coordinating communications and publication channels in accordance with chapter policies and bylaws. This volunteer works with the Gauteng Branch Lead to ensure that the Chapter brand is understood & leveraged in communication plans.
GP BRANCH FINANCE/TREASURER VOLUNTEER
The Gauteng Branch Finance/Treasurer is an appointed volunteer responsible for maintaining and presenting all financial records required for the Gauteng branch operations. This volunteer provides financial reporting regarding the state of finances and branch activity to the branch lead, Chapter board
GP BRANCH CORPORATE OUTREACH VOLUNTEER
The Gauteng Branch Corporate Outreach portfolio is responsible for developing a strategy and implementing programs that form sustainable partnerships and yield mutual benefits with institutions or corporates. This volunteer works with the Gauteng Branch Lead to develop an overall strategy for the Outreach portfolio, including objectives that support the objectives of the Gauteng Branch.
MEMBERSHIP DATA ANALYST
The Membership Data Analyst is an appointed volunteer accountable and responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting on membership data, status and metrics. The MEMBERSHIP DATA ANALYST, reports to and seeks guidance directly from the VP MEMBERSHIP of PMI South Africa Chapter

SOCIAL IMPACT TEAM
SOCIAL IMPACT LIAISON VOLUNTEER – 2 POSITIONS (EC; WC; KZN AND GAUTENG)
The SOCIAL IMPACT LIAISON VOLUNTEER is an appointed volunteer accountable and responsible for delivering PMI social responsibility programs. The Liaison volunteer works with a team to roll out the Social Impact programs and imparts project management knowledge through delivering PMIEF Courses
PMIEF LECTURERS (CAPE TOWN, GAUTENG, EASTERN CAPE & KZN)
The PMIEF Lecturer will be responsible for delivering PMIeF programs to the youth, teachers and NGOs in their respective regions (more information on the PMIEF Courses can be found on the PMIEF website - https://pmief.org)
SOCIAL IMPACT /PMIEF COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The SOCIAL IMPACT /PMIEF COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST is an appointed volunteer responsible for Stakeholder Engagement/ Communications relating to the Social Impact /PMIeF portfolio for the PMI SA Chapter - Including developing, implementing and managing the Communication Plan (to be aligned to the overall PMI SA Chapter Marketing and Communications strategy and plan); including sourcing and developing content and social media co-ordination.
