PMI South Africa Chapter Spreads Love This Valentine's Day with Donation to Impilo Orphanage
This February 14th marks a special partnership between PMI South Africa Chapter and Impilo Orphanage, as the organization steps forward to provide essential school shoes to children in need. Impilo, whose name beautifully translates to "to give life" in Zulu, stands as a beacon of hope in the Gauteng region, offering temporary safe care and adoption services to orphaned, vulnerable, and abandoned children.
The reality facing many of these children is stark – they attend school without proper footwear, a simple necessity that many take for granted. But a pair of school shoes represents far more than just protection for growing feet. It's a symbol of dignity, of belonging, and of the opportunity to walk confidently into a classroom ready to learn.
"Every child deserves to step into their classroom feeling confident and equal to their peers," says Ayanda Nyikana, PMI South Africa Chapter president, "By providing these school shoes, we're not just protecting their feet – we're helping to protect their dignity and their future."
This initiative reminds us that sometimes the simplest gestures can have the most profound impact. A pair of shoes might seem modest, but to a child at Impilo, it represents community care, support, and the knowledge that they matter.
